Coffee Talk Matters

WANT!

When is the last time you took the time to enjoy a morning breakfast with someone you love, or simply a good cup of coffee? I was lucky enough to make pancakes {from scratch-no less} for my husband this morning and his co-worker, and it was lovely! Often times it's all work and less play.

such a crush on these two- just based on their general coolness. and their apartment.

I'm dreaming of scented rose satchels, pink pearls, luggage trunks, trips to Paris, and lots of pretty ruffles!

Fabric Tissue Totes

An idea for the super crafty! Make a super easy fabric tissue tote. Cut a square of fabric, fold in thirds, and stitch. I picked these up at Pottery Barn last year on sale. A great idea to bring back for the Holidays!

Bright Lemon Interiors for Fall

I'm not ready to let go of the sunshine of summer. Instead, I'm finding the light in uplifting lemon-inspired rooms and accents.

Watch & Make: How to Make Your Own Baby T-shirts

With a weekend of fun, I was able to make my own t-shirt for my baby {as modeled above!}. My mom made a doodle of a bird and hated it. I thought it would look great on a t-shirt and I had to literally grab her drawing out of the trash can! I had tried silkscreen one other time and I was convinced I could print this on a t-shirt. I made a video for my side project blog, Scribbles and Books, on creating a screenprint using drawing fluid. It's super simple to do. It just requires some time to allow for the screens to dry between steps.

After my screen was all dry, it was time to print. I set up a printing station on my kitchen table. Make sure when you print to a t-shirt that you place cardboard between the t-shirt. I used the cardboard from a diaper box. Get resourceful!! I placed an old towel under everything. I ironed the shirt before I printed and after the print was dry to set the ink. That's it! Easy and the sky is the limit!

Inspirations: Love & Text in Design

It's Thanksgiving in Canada today! While I'd like to be sleeping soundly, which isn't possible with an 8-week old baby,  no matter I'll be up early to cook. However, I will be thinking of this beautiful image taken from Pink Peonies blog. Isn't the reason we all exist...two people fell in love? On this day of thanks, I am grateful for the beautiful new life that is a result of love!!
